A Site I love using is one called WayBack, which is a huge site that generates images of the internet and keeps records on how it looks, so if your website changes, it will show what it looked like years ago. Have a look at http://www.archive.org

Ok. Well. http://welshman.za.net first started out as my own personal website in about 2000 when I was really involved in IRC. I then progressed towards owning my own irc servers, and this served as a homepage for those servers.

From humble beginnings, with 10-15 people on the IRC server, known simply as irc.welshman.za.net, this gradually changed. We linked to a network called DragonLynk, and had, if memory serves me right, about 200 people on the network. (Please contact me if I’m wrong! LOL). irc.welshman.za.net was formally known as CapeTown.ZA.AF.DragonLynk.net

Well, after a while, things went down the drain, and DragonLynk was no more. So the merry band of loyal users looked for other networks to join.

AsylumNet, Chatnet, DalNet, some of the largest IRC networks in the world, all jumped at having a South African server link to them. Things went well for a while. Then 2002 came around, I got engaged, and I was deployed to the border of South Africa to work there for 2 months. Coming back home left me with lots of responsibilities, no time, and irc.welshman.za.net closed it’s doors. Welshman left IRC for nearly two years. I still make an appearance every now and then, but not on a regular basis, and no longer as an ‘IRCOP’

Now, March 2007, I have regained control of my domain, and will now keep it mainly for my personal use. I am involved in the internet again, mostly time allowing, and have embraced the mobile wap community. I co-own a chat forum site called Atlantis Mobile which can be found at http://atlantismobile.co.za

Atlantis Mobile started from humble beginnings as well, so I hope for huge things to come. Apart from chat forums, many great things are being designed to enhance the site, and among the things in the design stage is cheap online advertising for businesses.
